One of those days

Do you ever just have one of those days? Some of
us just hide it a little better than this! :0)

Rick's big catch

While we were in Panama, Rick got to go fishing for peacock bass in the canal. Here is his big catch of the day. He had a really fun time fishing, with the beautiful scenic background, a siting of monkeys and even an alligator (and let’s not forget the nice sunburn to remember it by). We were advised not to leave the gated port area because of muggings, etc (unless you were on an excursion booked through the cruise–which is what Rick did). Some taxi drivers would supposedly take tourists across Panama on a tour, only to drop them off on the other side and make them pay double to come back. Since we were forewarned of this, Jenn stayed at the port and did some shopping there instead. She enjoyed most of the scenic view from the ship. :0)

Sunset over Panama

As we left Panama, the sun began to set. Here is one of the pictures we took of the beautiful sunset as we were leaving the port. The dots of light on the right are from a ship we passed.

Happy 5th B-day ABBI

Abbi turned 5 last Friday, but we celebrated today, and what a beautiful day to do it! Here she is, as cute as can be, with all her presents. Thank you to everyone who thought of Abbi on her special day.

Back from the Cruise…

We made it home, safe and sound. We had a Fabulously Wonderful time on our cruise. We think it should be a mandatory vacation for all couples! :O) We took many, many, many pictures on our trip. This picture was taken in the rain forest in Costa Rica. We got to do a zip line through the forest, and it didn’t even rain! We really missed the kids, though, so we snuck home one day early from our meetings in the cities. More pictures and stories will follow…

Bon Voyage

Tomorrow we leave for our vacation! We are just soooooo excited! Warm sun, swimming in the ocean, snorkeling, and much more…as long as we can make it to the airport–since they are supposed to be getting 6 inches of snow or so. Oh well, it will just make the sun even more enjoyable on the cruise! :0) We’ll tell you all about it when we get back in a few weeks! Love you all!!

A day at the farm

On Sunday, we visited with friends from church at their home. They are in the midst of calving season, so they invited us to see some of their new baby calves. Oh so cute! The kids just loved it. One calf was even born while we were eating our lunch–(no we did not watch it while we were eating). Each calf is named, and Bryce got to pick the name of the newest calf. He named it Inky (it was black). Abbi named one Fuzzy. After petting some of the calves, we went and saw the horses, dog, cats, and bunnies too (almost like our own personal petting zoo). The kids didn’t even seem to notice that it was sleeting on us the whole time. Oh this MN weather…… Here are some pictures.

Like Mother, like daughters?

I just couldn’t resist snapping this photo of the girls playing video games! Bryce has been playing Donkey Kong for nintendo 64 (I know–practically from the dark ages). He came to his mother for help (imagine that) when he couldn’t win a challenge in the game. The last time I played the game was about 7 years ago. Anyway, it has sparked that video game bug in my system, and Bryce and I have been playing the game together the last week. Now it looks like the girls want in on the action, too. (Sorry for the red eye…I forgot to activate it on my camera)

Snow and Ice

After receiving about a foot of snow last week, we had a warmer weekend (warmer meaning it was in the 30s) which resulted in some nice ice formations. The first picture shows some icicles in one of our trees. The picture to the right shows how long some of our icicles have gotten. When Jenn was about Bryce’s age (7), she tried to break an icicle off of the roof with an empty, plastic pop bottle. She did succeed in breaking down the icicle, unfortunately she also succeeded in breaking the window. Oops!

A visit with Grandparents

This last weekend, Jenn and the kids made a trip out west to see the great-grandparents. Great Grandpa Artie and Great Grandma Mary are on the left and Great Grandma Esther is on the right. Jenn’s sister Heidi came along on the visit and her kids and two nieces joined us for our picture with grandma Esther. What a full house that was! We had sooooo much fun on our visit. We just wish we could see them more often.
